What should fans look for in this week’s episode of Chicago Med? Get ready for “Leave the Choice to Solomon” with our Chicago Med season 5, episode 12 preview.

Tonight’s episode of Chicago Med will see a couple of doctors work in the field to save schoolchildren, meanwhile one of their own totes the line between deliberate and dangerous.

“Leave the Choice to Solomon” pairs Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) with Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) as they race against time to save trapped kids from a bus crash. Elsewhere, Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) takes matters into his own hands with an off-the-books clinic, which causes his colleague Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) to become concerned.

NBC’s official episode description reads: “The team deals with the aftermath of a school bus crash; Dr. Charles worries Dr. Halstead is putting his medical license in jeopardy; Maggie helps a friend in need.”

The main team members who tend to bus victims are Natalie and Crockett, but they aren’t alone, as Chicago Fire‘s Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) assists them, according to the promotional photos.

While Natalie and Crockett team up to save lives, Dr. Halstead may butt heads with Dr. Charles, as Will’s rash actions seem off-putting to Daniel. While he can understand Will’s need to help control the opioid crisis, Daniel doesn’t want it to cost Will his medical license.

What started out as a bit of a passion project for Will had the potential to be something great, but last week’s episode saw Gwen Garrett (Heather Headley) shut it down. That’s why he goes “all in” with his friend who runs an underground safe injection site house.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen Dr. Halstead get involved with shady character or bad business deal. Just last season he dealt with a mobster’s family who wanted him dead, which left him no choice but to go into Witness Protection – on his wedding night, no less!

The aforementioned scenario was what led to the demise of Manstead; but now, Will’s latest risk could be detrimental to his professional career. While it’s admirable that he wears his heart on his sleeve, his high emotions can cloud his rational mind. That hasn’t ended well for Will Halstead in the past – and with how things have been going thus far, his luck doesn’t seem to be changing.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see how things shake out when “Leave the Choice to Solomon” airs tonight on NBC.
