Chicago PD season 7, episode 12 preview: The Devil You Know

What should fans look for in this week’s episode of Chicago PD? Get ready for “The Devil You Know” with our Chicago PD season 7, episode 12 preview.

Tonight’s episode of Chicago PD sends the Intelligence Unit on the hunt for dirty cops who are running drugs through the streets of the Windy City.

Hoping to put an end to the influx of bad drugs hitting the streets, Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) goes to the one person in Chicago who knows those mean streets better than he does when it comes to the drug trade: Darius Walker (recurring guest star Michael Beach). Whether or not Darius proves helpful is the question.

NBC’s official episode description reads: “Voight makes a deal with Darius Walker to help bring down a rogue group of dirty cops dealing drugs that were supposed to be destroyed; Upton clashes with Voight and enacts her own form of justice.”

Something must go awry when the team is surveying the drug runners, as it takes a lot for Detective Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) to go rogue. Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time this season she and Voight don’t see eye-to-eye. Remember in “Informant,” she didn’t understand why Hank still used Darius when he was linked to her CI’s death.

The above speculation may be the reason behind Upton and Voight’s current beef, but we won’t know for sure until things play out during the episode. One thing we do know is that Upton always stands her ground when it comes to making tough decisions. So, if she figures out a new way to get justice, we’re betting she’ll run with it.

Let’s hope Upton’s quest for vengeance doesn’t put the rest of the unit in harm’s way, as it’s all hands on deck for this case. Detectives Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), and Vanessa Rojas (Lisseth Chavez) are all heavily featured in both the episode promo and photos, so they’ll need to work together if they want to get these bad guys.

The twist will come if and when the perpetrator(s) turn out to be someone they know, or, even worse – someone higher up the police ladder. Whoever they are, they will have messed with the wrong unit, as Voight and his team will do whatever it takes to bring them down.

We’ll have to wait and see how it all turns out when “The Devil You Know” airs tonight on NBC.
