Hank confronted Darius about being in business with dirty cops, and demanded to know how long he’d been in bed with them. About 4 years, Darius said. He said they have a boss, someone who was bigger than them. Voight told Darius to help them figure it out; but he refused, saying that dirty cops were worse than gang bangers when it came to being dangerous.

Voight went to see Superintendent Jason Crawford (recurring guest star Paul Adelstein), and relayed all the information to him. He had enough evidence and insisted that Intelligence work the case, but he needed Crawford’s permission to use Darius in a drug buy. The only way Darius would do it? If this job was his last case working for Intelligence. Voight persuaded Crawford’s “yes” by telling him how good it would look for him to take down corrupt cops.

The team reconvened, to go over their plan once again. Gibbs signed off on the “incinerated” drugs, which didn’t really get destroyed. Rojas shared that there was a manifest which listed all the drugs on site. Hailey insisted that Darius ask for a bigger amount of heroin, to flush out whoever else was working with them.

Voight asked Hailey if she was okay with it, working with Darius. Hailey sighed, saying that she didn’t think it was a democracy – meaning it was Voight’s way or the highway. Darius asked for six keys of 10, 50 per. Platt came back to report that the drugs she dropped off with Gibbs had been allegedly “incinerated.”

Later, Hailey tested Darius’ wire, and tried to make small talk with him, but her tone suggested otherwise. She brought up Cameron Ballo’s name, who was her CI that Darius had killed in “Informant.” She was pissed, but Darius defended his position, saying there’s no luck on the streets, only choices that were made. And Cameron made a bad choice.

The meet time came, and everyone was in their set positions. Adam and Vanessa with the long guns; Kevin, Hank, and Kim on surveillance; and Hailey and Jay were in the van doing eyes and ears. Lieutenant Mike Packer was the third cop that met Darius Walker and Kelly Tyler. Packer wasn’t buying Darius’ act, and said that he needed to communicate better with him. If Darius didn’t deliver, he was as good as dead in Packer’s eyes.

Hank ordered his team to pick up the dope, and confirm that it was the same dope the dirty cops claimed to have destroyed. With that done, Intelligence had these guys dead to rights. Next, he conferred with Crawford again to relay the info about Packer. Crawford reminded him how serious the case was, and Voight confirmed that all their evidence was solid.

They met with the DA, who said that the defense would try to have convictions overturned on prior cases the dirty cops handled. The only way this case would be made? If Voight named his CI. So much for that promise Hank made to Darius.
