Chicago PD alum Charles Michael Davis to star in NCIS: New Orleans
Former Chicago PD recurring Charles Michael Davis is picking up a badge himself by joining NCIS: New Orleans season 6 as a series regular.
Chicago PD actor Charles Michael Davis is headed to another franchise cop drama—and on NCIS: New Orleans, he’s going to be a series regular!
Davis portrayed Kim Burgess’s (Marina Squerciati) ill-fated boyfriend Blair Williams last season on Chicago PD. Although working for Brian Kelton’s mayoral campaign, Blair struck up a romance with Burgess, only to be murdered a few episodes later.
Now he’s joining the regular cast of the youngest NCIS series before the show returns for the rest of its sixth season. TV Insider was first to report the hiring, which fills the void left behind by Lucas Black after he departed NCIS: New Orleans earlier this season.
In the March 8 episode, Davis will be introduced as Special Agent Quentin Carter, who arrives with a reputation of ticking someone off and thus being well-traveled within NCIS. However, he’s been personally recruited by Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula), so will New Orleans wind up being someplace he can stay?

It will at least be a departure from what One Chicago fans saw of Charles Michael Davis while he was on Chicago PD. Blair was a smooth-talking political operative, and he didn’t get fleshed out as much until after he died (and Burgess met his sister).
By virtue of being a main cast member, Davis will have much more to do in his NCIS role, and the character of Carter seems much more outspoken than Blair. Plus, now he’s going to be the person who’s investigating, instead of the person whose death is being investigated!
He joins a growing list of actors who have jumped from the One Chicago franchise over to the CBS crime drama world or vice versa. Esai Morales had an arc on Chicago PD and was also a recurring on CBS’ Criminal Minds, while Ato Essandoh had a recurring role on Blue Bloods before he played Dr. Isidore Latham on Chicago Med.
And former Chicago PD star Sophia Bush shot a drama pilot for CBS this past season, but the network chose not to pick it up to series.
