NBC has released the official photos for Chicago Fire season 8, episode 14, and fans can expect their favorite firefighters to encounter personal problems and professional hazards this week.
The February 12 episode “Shut It Down” sees Paramedic in Charge Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) lose focus as her birth mother tries to get in contact with her. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) misreads his title as Joe Cruz’s (Joe Minoso) best man at his upcoming wedding.
This will be the first time since “What Went Wrong” that fans will get to hear about Kelly being in Joe’s wedding. It was a touching moment when Cruz asked Severide to be his best man, as he was filling the shoes of someone no longer with them: Brian “Otis” Zvonecek (Yuri Sardarov).
It seems like they’ll have to set their personal lives aside when they get a major call, as both Cruz and Severide appear a bit puzzled in this week’s promotional photos. The pictures also feature Captain Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), so it must be a tricky situation if the leadership trio has to confer.

What’s interesting about this week’s photos is that Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) is featured in a third of them. Perhaps NBC just released what photos they had, but if we know anything about Dick Wolf’s One Chicago universe, nothing is ever a coincidence.
Maybe Stella shows off her skills she learned back at that leadership conference? Boden told her in “Best Friend Magic” that he trusted her, and he wouldn’t have picked just anyone at 51 for that opportunity. Stella deserves a bit more screen time anyhow, so it’ll be exciting to see what’s in store for her.
