1. Stella Kidd and Kelly Severide, Chicago Fire

Stella and Severide are Chicago Fire‘s reigning duo. These two took over Dawsey’s spot front and center in Chicago Fire season 7 came around, but it’s Chicago Fire season 8 that’s been their best season.

From boating trips to birthday surprises, Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Severide have kept One Chicago audiences on their toes, wondering what they’ll do next—or what next thing the show will do with their relationship.

After last season’s finale where Severide promised Stella that he’d “finally be the man she deserves,” Stellaride have been on Cloud 9 as far as their relationship goes. Chicago Fire season 8 has seen a very future-oriented Kelly—season 1 Severide would be shaking right now—not to mention a super-supportive Stella.

When Severide transferred to OFI, Stella was certain that if there was anyone suited for the job, it was her boyfriend. When Stella needed a little confidence boost after Boden recommended her for a leadership conference, Severide was there with words of encouragement.

During the One Chicago crossover, Severide even calmed Stella’s fears about the deadly disease by telling her that he knew how he was going to go out—at an old age, with their grandkids running around and her by his side.

Smaller moments have played a part in Stellaride’s romance this season too, such as when Stella and Kelly went out on his boat for a lake date, or when Stella tried to surprise Kelly with a romantic getaway for his birthday.

But the biggest development for Stellaride fans was Severide talking to Stella about moving in with him permanently. That hypothetical became a reality in “Then Nick Porter Happened” when Stella agreed, saying, “You’ve got to live with who you love.” She made her move official, and Stellaride shippers everywhere rejoiced.

All of these moments are examples of what makes Stella and Severide one of One Chicago’s golden couples. They prove that relationships are about trust, communication, and respect, and they’ve been able to find their way back to each other no matter what the writers throw at them.
