What’s coming in the next Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med episodes? Find out what to watch for in our One Chicago preview for March 4.

Fans are already looking forward to the next Chicago PD, Chicago Med and Chicago Fire episodes—so what should you be looking forward for? What clues can we pick up from the promos we’ve seen this week? Get your first glimpse ahead in our One Chicago preview.

After last week’s crossover between Fire and PD, it’s back to business as usual for our trio of series this time around. Some are continuing subplots that started before the event, and others are starting new plotlines. While there may not be a huge plot twist happening, there will be a lot of talking points.

So which points should One Chicago fans especially be on the lookout for? Here’s what we have our eyes on this coming Wednesday, March 4.

Chicago Fire: Will Brett finally connect with her mom?

Now that Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) has met her birth mother, Wednesday’s episode “The Tendency of a Drowning Victim” seems poised for them to actually talk for more than two minutes. Will this be the end of this storyline, or just the beginning?

The official NBC synopsis for this episode reveals that Mom has some “life-altering” news. But what could be more life-altering than last episode, when she announced that Brett is going to have a new half-sibling?

The other consideration is how long One Chicago viewers want this storyline to go on. Unless you’re a Brett fan, it hasn’t yielded much so far besides a lot of Kara Killmer getting to emote. Even the promise of some renewed sparks between Brett and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), since she’s been using him as a sounding board, hasn’t been fulfilled yet. So whatever Brett’s mom has to say, hopefully it will inject some new excitement into this plotline!

Chicago PD: Upstead fans on alert

Speaking of ships, if you’re an Upstead shipper, the next Chicago PD might be for you. “Intimate Violence” has stories for both Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), after the two had smaller roles in the crossover event.

Halstead is going to come into conflict with Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) for the first time since the Chicago PD season 7 premiere. And Upton will once again delve into her childhood, which was first brought up in the season 6 episode “True or False”, when the case appears to involve domestic violence.

Will either of these storylines lead them to confide in each other? Particularly Upton dealing with such an emotional personal issue? This is a great opportunity for the writers to sneak in another Upstead moment if they’re serious about making Jay and Hailey a couple.

Chicago Med: Natalie in peril, yet again

If you’re not a fan of Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto), One Chicago audiences may want to skip the next Chicago Med episode. Natalie is front and center in “Who Should Be the Judge,” and she’s in yet another life-threatening situation.

The promo for the episode shows Natalie being held hostage and forced to treat a man, along with Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains). This is after Natalie suffered a traumatic brain injury in the car accident that was resolved in the Chicago Med season 5 premiere, and after she was involved in a helicopter crash last season. The woman seems to be a magnet for danger recently.

Regardless of what happens to her, remember that we also had a hostage situation inside Chicago Med itself last season. How will this storyline be different from that one, aside from the fact that it’s outside the hospital? We’ll want to see something distinct that makes it worth using the same theme over again.
