NBC has released the official photos for Chicago Med season 5, episode 17, and it looks like almost every character will play a part in the landmark 100th episode “The Ghosts Of The Past.”
The episode’s photos show April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) lying in a hospital bed, with Dr. Hannah Asher (recurring guest star Jessy Schram) at her side, which implies that her condition is related to her and her fiancé Dr. Ethan Choi’s (Brian Tee) desire to start a family.
April and Ethan aren’t the only ones that are featured in these Chicago Med photos. Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) is solely present in three images, while he’s in another two alongside Dr. Asher. The latter is more than likely a nod to the duo’s budding relationship, which has gone from personal to professional and back again. And it also says there’s a time skip here, since Asher was last seen having recently entered rehab for her drug addiction.
According to the episode’s promotional trailer, Will asks if Asher has plans, which infers that he’s attempting to ask her out on a date. That would be pretty devastating for fans of Will and Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto), who are still rooting for the former couple known as Manstead to reconcile.
Natalie will be in the 100th episode as well, working alongside Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) again. But surprisingly, Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) isn’t shown in this week’s images, and neither is Choi. Since at least the latter has a big personal story, it’s a surprise that they’re omitted.
If you’re a fan of Dr. Charles, or Dr. Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) though, you’re in luck. The dynamic duo is featured in a couple of photos—with perplexed expressions. Perhaps these cases are particularly tricky and causing them extra confusion. After all, given the occasion, it does stand to reason that the stakes would be even higher.
With this being the historic 100th episode, let’s hope that “The Ghosts Of The Past” gives fans something to remember.
