Chicago Fire season 8, episode 18 photos: I’ll Cover You

NBC has released the official photos for Chicago Fire season 8, episode 18, and it looks like Firehouse 51 will have its hands full with yet another massive fire that requires plenty of teamwork.

Wednesday’s installment “I’ll Cover You” appears to feature 51 in a few places: the scene of the massive fire, the firehouse itself; and the hospital. Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), Randall “Mouch” McHolland (Christian Stolte), and Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) are only a few of the firefighters on scene at the motel that’s burning.

Surprisingly, the photos only include Captain Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) out of his fire gear and in casual clothes, which may allude to him accompanying Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) to the hospital again as she deals with her birth mom’s pregnancy.

He’s not the only one helping out, though. One photo shows Brett’s paramedic partner Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) by her side. Sylvie’s growing relationship with her birth mother Julie (guest star Kelly Deadmon) has been a repetitive subject in the latest Chicago Fire episodes; hopefully it continues to be positive for Brett rather than a setback.

The episode is supposed to feature a major plotline for Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), as he’s back with OFI’s Wendy Seager (guest star Andy Allo) to investigate the aforementioned hotel fire. He may get himself in a bit of trouble when they start digging, but we’ll have to wait and see on that, as the network has only included him in two photos.

Elsewhere, Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) leads quite of few of his firehouse comrades, including Harold Capp (Randy Flagler), Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg), Casey and Mouch on some kind of crusade involving the Internet.

The episode’s synopsis reveals that members of Firehouse 51 break out their detective skills when a Reddit thread involves one of their own. The “who” in question is a mystery, but if we know anything about Cruz, it’s that he always goes to bat for his friends. In short, we have no doubt that if anyone can solve this baffling issue, it’s him.
