Before Dominic Rains was saving people as Dr. Crockett Marcel on Chicago Med, he was killing people as Kasius in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.

As One Chicago fans continue to look for things to watch over hiatus, this week we’re reminding you that Dominic Rains once took over the world.

In his last TV role before joining the cast of Chicago Med, Rains recurred during Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 5 as the Kree villain Kasius. In an alternate future, Kasius ruled over what was left of Earth following its near-total destruction.

He appeared in eight episodes as the show’s primary antagonist until he was killed in a battle with Alphonso Mackenzie (played by Henry Simmons).

Needless to say, the character was about as far away from Crockett Marcel as you could possibly get, which is what might make him fun for Chicago Med fans to check out while waiting out the extended hiatus.

Aside from being completely unrecognizable while in all the Kree makeup, Rains demonstrates sides of his talent in Agents of SHIELD that viewers will likely never see in the One Chicago universe.

We’ve seen Crockett upset, and we’ve seen him angry, but we’ve never seen him intentionally out to hurt someone—or having someone executed. Kasius is a bona fide villain, with his only redeeming quality being a story that unfolds about him having family issues and desperately wanting the approval of his father. Even that doesn’t really humanize him.

But if you want to get to know Dominic Rains better, and see more of what he can do outside of the hospital, this is definitely a project to take a look at. You just might need a second to recognize him, or conversely, to forget what he looks like as an alien once Med returns!
