Chicago PD will again be available on MyNetworkTV stations this fall.

Fans of Chicago PD can continue to rely on MyNetworkTV for reruns, as the network announced Wednesday that it’s keeping the One Chicago police drama on its schedule next season.

Chicago PD repeats will remain on Tuesday nights in the 2020-2021 season, with two episodes airing back-to-back at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET/PT respectively.

The network originally picked up Chicago PD reruns in 2018, and the show has become a staple of their primetime lineup.

Despite being owned by Fox Corp, MyNetworkTV relies entirely on NBC shows in the evenings—most of them created by Dick Wolf.

The channel also broadcasts repeats of Law & Order: SVU on Mondays and Law & Order: Criminal Intent on Thursdays and Fridays. NBC’s newsmagazine Dateline fills out the lineup on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

For One Chicago viewers, they’re a resource to catch older PD episodes that doesn’t require having cable, or making some other additional subscription. With NBC usually not airing regular repeats (this season being an exception due to current events), the only two non-cable networks where fans can watch have been MyNetworkTV and ION.

Chicago PD is the only One Chicago series available in syndication. NBCUniversal struck a major syndication deal for the show in 2017 with Fox Television Stations, just months after selling the cable rights to NBC’s sister channels USA and Oxygen.

Though both Chicago Fire and Chicago Med have surpassed the minimum number of episodes to enter syndication, no deal has been made for either show yet—and it’s not known if NBCU is even interested in one, especially with their new streaming service Peacock. Under the terms of Dick Wolf’s latest contract, all three Chicago shows are headed to Peacock when it launches in July.

That makes news like the MyNetworkTV renewal even more unique, because it’s the exception and keeping at least one of the Chicago programs available for fans to re-watch on TV for free.
