When will Chicago Fire season 8 be on DVD?
Chicago Fire season 8 DVD release date announced.
Chicago Fire season 8 finally has an official DVD street date from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment—and the box set is already available for pre-order.
Universal will be releasing the latest season on Tuesday, August 25, with a retail price of $39.98 for the six-disc set. However, if you pre-order via Amazon, you can currently get a slight discount as it’s retailing there for $36.21.
As with past seasons, there is no Blu-Ray release planned.

The Chicago Fire season 8 DVD will contain all 20 episodes from Chicago Fire‘s most recent season. Highlights include the season premiere “Sacred Ground” (the final appearance of Yuri Sardarov as Otis), the “Infection” crossover, and the finale “51’s Original Bell” (the last appearance for Annie Ilonzeh as Emily Foster).
According to the box art displayed on Amazon’s pre-order listing—which is subject to change—the set will be presented in widescreen, with English and French subtitles. No other languages are supported.

As far as special features, Universal is once again putting out a relatively bare-bones release. The only special features included on the set are the crossover episodes from this season (so the other two parts of the “Infection” event, and the Chicago PD episode “Burden of Truth”).
Fans will have to decide if having those extra installments is worth the price and the two-month delay. Amazon Video currently has the season available for download at $34.99, so it’s a pretty close call between buying the set digitally and waiting for the DVDs—unless you’re one of the folks who likes to have physical media in your collection.
The DVD release date, though, is an encouraging sign as we look ahead to next season. If UPHE is putting out the DVDs in August, then NBCUniversal must be fairly confident that season 9 is going to premiere on NBC by September.
