Emmys 2020: One Chicago shut out of 2020 Emmy nominations
Emmys 2020 will not include Chicago Fire, Chicago PD or Chicago Med.
One Chicago fans can forget about the Emmys 2020, as Emmy nominations arrived this week without a single nod for NBC‘s long-running franchise.
No actor or crew member from Chicago Med, Chicago Fire or Chicago PD earned one of the 2020 Emmy nominations.
The news is no surprise, because the One Chicago series have never been nominated for Emmys during their entire run.

In fact, the larger Dick Wolf universe hasn’t gotten much recent recognition either. Law & Order: SVU‘s last Emmy nomination was in 2011, when Mariska Hargitay was up for Lead Actress in a Drama Series (an award she won in 2006).
The original Law & Order ended in 2010, but hadn’t gotten a nomination since 2003, when guest star Tovah Feldshuh was shortlisted for her recurring role as defense attorney Danielle Melnick.

However, NBC picked up several Emmys 2020 nominations this week, mostly for This Is Us, Will & Grace, Saturday Night Live and The Voice.
Critically acclaimed comedy The Good Place is up for the Outstanding Comedy Series trophy, while This Is Us is nominated in three acting categories (Lead Actor, Guest Actor and Guest Actress in a Drama). You can see the full list of nominees by network here.
Of course, fans of the One Chicago franchise will be upset about their favorite shows once again being excluded from television’s top honors. But in a highly competitive landscape—where most of the attention went to premium cable and streaming series like Netflix’s Hollywood, Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and HBO’s Watchmen and Succession—it’s hard for these consistent but not flashy procedurals to stand out.
