Chicago Med has stopped filming due to COVID-19.

Filming on Chicago Med has been shut down following two positive COVID-19 tests amongst the crew, according to a Deadline report this week.

According to Deadline, an unidentified crew member who worked “in close proximity to other members of cast and crew” tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Wolf Entertainment and Universal TV then decided to pause shooting for two weeks.

The report claims that Tuesday’s result is the second positive on the Chicago Med set since the show returned to work on Sept. 22.

Deadline says that a different member of the crew was also COVID-19 positive on Sept. 24. That person worked in the same department as the person who tested positive this week.

While the show only stopped for a half-day after that first positive, the second has now prompted the producers and studio to institute a longer delay as they follow safety guidelines instituted by the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois, per Tuesday’s report.

Deadline is claiming that the two-week break won’t affect NBC’s plans to premiere Chicago Med season 6 on Nov. 11, or the network and studio’s plans to resume work on the other two Chicago series.

Neither NBC nor Wolf Entertainment have made any official statements about the situation, but they may not comment publicly.

This isn’t an uncommon story. Many TV and film productions, as well as several major sports, have been trying to manage the risks of coronavirus while returning to work.

Chicago Med is the second network TV drama to be affected by COVID-19. ABC‘s legal drama For Life likewise stopped shooting two weeks ago after multiple crew members produced what were described as “inconsistent” test results.

The NFL produced its first positives this week as well, and production on The Batman also hit a snag after star Robert Pattinson also came up positive for coronavirus.
