Who’s returning in Chicago Med season 6?
The Chicago Med season 6 cast includes Yaya DaCosta, Brian Tee, Torrey DeVitto, Nick Gehlfuss, Dominic Rains, Oliver Platt and S. Epatha Merkerson.
This series is the only one not to lose a main cast member between seasons, but to be fair, it just got rid of several last season, so it also had less reason to make any big cast changes.
On the recurring character front, Jessy Schram has been confirmed to return as Dr. Hannah Asher, Will’s girlfriend. She will make her first appearance in the season 6 premiere—but she is not part of the regular cast (yet).

Who’s new in Chicago Med season 6?
Hannah won’t be the only major character in Will’s life this season. The show has also cast Pandora actress Tehmina Sunny as a new doctor with whom Halstead works on a clinical trial. It’s a recurring role, meaning she’ll appear in more than one episode.
It’s not clear yet when she’ll make her first appearance, or what exactly the nature of her relationship with Will is going to turn out to be.
Other Chicago Med changes
It’s not a huge surprise, but Dick Wolf has confirmed that Chicago Med is going to incorporate the COVID-19 pandemic into its storylines. And because this is a medical drama, it’s going to play a big part.
One of the show’s characters will be recovering from having COVID-19 when season 6 premieres. So far, it’s not known if that’s going to be one of the main characters, or it could be a supporting character like Hannah or one of the other doctors or nurses.
The hospital will also have significantly changed the way it operates, and the first episode will be largely devoted to the pandemic.
