Anne Heche will recur on All Rise this season.

Anne Heche is returning to the crime drama world, as the Chicago PD alum has booked a recurring role in the current season of All Rise. But she’s switching sides in more ways than one.

The actress is known to One Chicago fans for playing Deputy Superintendent Katherine Brennan, the right-hand woman to Brian Kelton—who ultimately murdered him after he turned on her.

She appeared in multiple Chicago PD season 6 episodes and the season 7 premiere.

But on All Rise, Heche is going to be on the other side of the criminal justice system. She’ll be playing an attorney who defends accused police officers.

Her character Corrine Cuthbert is described as “infamous” and “wicked smart” by Deadline, which originally reported Heche’s casting.

Heche will appear in multiple episodes, but it hasn’t been announced when she’ll make her first appearance. All Rise season 2 premiered on Nov. 16, and new episodes are airing Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT through Dec. 14, after which the show takes its holiday break.

The CBS series follows a group of characters who all occupy various positions in the Los Angeles legal system, from judges to District Attorneys, public defenders and court personnel. Simone Missick (Luke Cage) stars as Judge Lola Carmichael while Wilson Bethel (Daredevil) co-stars as Lola’s friend and Assistant District Attorney Mark Callan.

Heche is coming off participating in Dancing with the Stars season 29, where she was eliminated third. It’s unlikely that we’ll see her return to Chicago PD, however; not only was Brennan arrested for Kelton’s murder, but she’s been replaced by Deputy Superintendent Samantha Miller (played by Nicole Ari Parker) in season 8.
