Chicago PD season 8, episode 5 synopsis and promo: In Your Care
This week’s Chicago PD will include a Kim Burgess revelation, as revealed by NBC‘s official materials released for the next episode.
The network’s description of “In Your Care” says that Burgess (Marina Squerciati) will face a life-changing development, while the case of the week involves a series of carjackings.
Intelligence finds out that the case is “more complicated” than it first appears, but honestly, that can be said for almost every investigation on the show so that’s not abnormal.
Fans will be more interested in what happens with Kim, but NBC may or may not have given that away already.

If you watch the promo for this episode (included below), it appears that Burgess’ big reveal is that she wants to adopt the little girl from the earlier episode “Tender Age.” Promos can sometimes be misleading, so it’s possible that doesn’t come to pass for some reason.
This is also the show that had fans thinking Kim’s life was going to change when she got pregnant last season, and then had her lose the baby a few episodes later, so it’s also possible that there’s a wrench that’ll get thrown into the subplot.
We’ll have to watch and see what Burgess actually decides and if it sticks.
