Chicago Fire season 9, episode 6 photos: Blow This Up Somehow

The next Chicago Fire is going to be literally explosive, as revealed in the promotional photos that NBC has released for Wednesday’s installment.

In “Blow This Up Somehow,” something does actually blow up—which fans will be able to see in a few of the images as Firehouse 51 responds to a gas station fire. Considering the title, it would be odd if there wasn’t a massive explosion.

Elsewhere, we get photos of both Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) looking off in thought. Viewers know from the synopsis for this episode that Casey has a big problem with Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), so maybe that’s why he looks pensive.

But what’s on Severide’s mind? Is it how his relationship continues to deterioriate since he’s started putting distance between himself and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo)? When are they going to have more than a 15-second confrontation about that?

From the assortment of stills it seems like this will be a pretty prototypical Fire episode: a massive call for our heroes to respond to, mixed in with a healthy amount of personal drama. After the last episode was such a change of pace (in a good way), this will be business as usual.
