When is the Chicago Med season 6 finale?

Chicago Med season 6 is sure to go down as one of the show’s most interesting seasons, and we’re not talking from a story standpoint.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production on season 6 was delayed preventing filming from beginning over the summer. Because of this, production was pushed back until it was deemed safe for cast and crew to return to work which happened to be in September. This led to the season kicking off in November 2021 — months later than fans are used to seeing the new seasons of the One Chicago series premiere on NBC.

Because of the delayed start, this season’s episodes have been airing at an unusual pace making it hard to keep up with when to expect new episodes. This has also led many to wonder when exactly the seasons might conclude and how many episodes the season will consist of.

While it’s not yet clear how many episodes Chicago Med season 6 will consist of, we do know when the season will come to an end.

Chicago Med season 6 finale date

The Chicago Med season 6 finale will air Wednesday, May 26 at 8/7c on NBC. With a May finale date set, it’s looking likely the season will end up being a shorter than usual season coming in somewhere in the 16-18 episode range rather than between 20-22 episodes.

Is Chicago Med season 7 happening?

Although Chicago Med season 6 is likely to be a shorter season by usual standards, the good news is that there is still plenty of Chicago Med to come.

In early 2020, NBC made the decision to renew its One Chicago dramas, including Chicago Med, for three additional seasons. The first season in the deal was Chicago Med season 6, which means that Chicago Med season 7 is not only happening but we can already rest at ease in knowing an eighth season is already in the works as well.
