Chicago Med season 6, episode 14 preview: A Red Pill, A Blue Pill
There might be some more medical malpractice happening in this week’s Chicago Med episode.
“A Red Pill, A Blue Pill” sounds like a run of the mill medical drama episode based on its synopsis. One Chicago fans know that a new crop of medical students will be making their first appearance in the episode, and that one of them is Maggie Lockwood’s (Marlyne Barrett) daughter.
The audience also knows that Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) will continue to try and hide that she stole clinical trial medication to treat her mother’s heart failure. This is the second week of that fallout.

But it’s the promo for this episode which reveals a third story, and one that’s a lot more interesting.
April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) works on a case with Dr. Dean Archer (recurring guest star Steven Weber), and Archer makes a choice that April doesn’t agree with—and which might get him in a hell of a lot of trouble.

Both April and Archer are headstrong characters who will break rules when they feel it justified, so just seeing the two of them interact should be great fun for One Chicago viewers.
But also, how much trouble will Archer be in? No one has found out yet that he never actually got help for his post-traumatic stress, and he’s already rubbed a couple of colleagues the wrong way. Could this be the episode where he gets suspended or fired? He could certainly deserve it, but this is also a show where characters don’t always face immediate consequences (see the Natalie story above).
Plus, TV viewers know Steven Weber always delivers great performances, so for no other reason than to see what he does when he has a storyline that he leads, this will be an episode worth the watch. Let’s see if Archer or Natalie ends up more on the hot seat by the end of the hour!
