Chicago Fire season 9 finale spoilers: Do Brett and Casey finally get together?

Chicago Fire season 9 has been quite the rollercoaster ride for Brettsey shippers, so it’s only fitting that the final hour of the season brought with it yet another surprising twist in the couple’s journey.

As the season began, the writers leaned heavily into the will-they-won’t-they dynamic and it looked as though they were finally going to pull the trigger early in the season. However, just when it looked like Matt (Jesse Spencer) and Brett (Kara Killmer) were about to give in to their feelings, their relationship was put on ice.

Suddenly, as if out of the blue, Brett pushed Casey away out of fear he was still harboring feelings for Dawson and iced him out in exploring a new relationship which quickly fizzled out. The reason? Brett seemed to prioritize being by Casey’s side as he went through his health scare which seemed to be the catalyst for reigniting the spark between them.

It all led up to Casey pouring out his heart to Brett in front of Molly’s in confessing that Dawson is his past and that she is his future and the one he’s in love with.

With the ball in Brett’s court, just how did she react though?

Are Brett and Casey getting together on Chicago Fire?

In the Chicago Fire season 9 finale, it was starting to look as though Brett was about to break Casey’s heart. For the better part of the episode, she seemed to take active steps to avoid Casey and even froze up on a call when working with Casey for the first time after his declaration of love.

Following an awkward shift, it was clear Casey was starting to spiral in questioning whether he had made a mistake in telling Brett how he felt. Unable to sleep, Casey stepped outside the firehouse and was taking in the beauty of the Chicago skyline and getting some fresh air.

Much to his surprise, Brett joined him outside where she confessed her love for Casey telling him, “We belong together. We’re right for each other. When you know, you know. I’m in love with you.” The two then shared a passionate kiss, which was later followed by a steamy love scene between the two which seemed to confirm the pair are officially getting together!

Although we’ll have to wait to see where the couple go in season 10 now that they’ve finally given into their feelings and gotten together, but the future is looking bright for the couple.
