Is Chicago Med season 7 coming in 2021?

Though Chicago Med recently lost two of its biggest stars in Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto, fans aren’t ready to give up this show just yet. The NBC medical drama which debuted back in 2015 concluded its sixth season last night on May 26, and now many viewers are wondering what the future of the series has in store. When will the show go on for another round at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center?

Is Chicago Med season 7 happening?

Fortunately for those still reeling from last night’s season 6 finale, Chicago Med season 7 has been confirmed. The good news is that back in February 2020, the series was renewed for a sixth, seventh, and even an eighth season! Fans can rest easy knowing we won’t have to leave behind these beloved nurses and doctors anytime soon.

Chicago Med season 7 release date

With Chicago Med season 6 just wrapping up last night, we don’t have an exact release date for the next installment just yet. However, for those hoping that we’ll get Chicago Med season 7 sometime in 2021, you’re in luck. Each season of the show so far has begun in September or November, so expecting season 7 sometime this fall wouldn’t be wishful thinking. In fact, it’s been confirmed that all three One Chicago shows would be returning just in time for NBC’s fall 2021-2022 lineup.

As reported by Variety earlier this month, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. will all return this fall on NBC during their usual timeslots, starting at 8:00 p.m.

In other exciting news, the new drama series La Brea, starring Chicago P.D.’s Jon Seda, will be premiering on NBC this fall.

So while we don’t have an exact release date for Chicago Med season 7 just yet, we can definitively report that it will be coming out in fall 2021.
