Jon Seda offers fans first look from the set of his new series La Brea

This fall, Jon Seda is finally heading back to NBC in what is shaping up to be one of the most-talked-about new series of the 2021-22 fall schedule, La Brea.
In what will be his first series regular role since leaving Chicago PD in 2019, La Brea will see Seda trading in his gun and badge for a stethoscope and doctor’s coat as he takes on the role of Dr. Sam Velez, a stern father who carries himself like an Army general.
The series is definitely a departure from Chicago PD, best described as a high concept fantasy drama focusing on a family torn apart after a massive sinkhole mysteriously opens in Los Angeles. Here’s how NBC officially describes the series:
"When a massive sinkhole mysteriously opens in Los Angeles, it tears a family in half, separating mother and son from father and daughter. When part of the family find themselves in an unexplainable primeval world, alongside a disparate group of strangers, they must work to survive and uncover the mystery of where they are and if there is a way back home."
Production is currently underway on the new series and it appears Seda has made officially made his way to set for filming, as revealed in a recent Instagram post! In the two-part post, Seda snapped a photo of his trailer, adorned with the show and his character’s name on the door.
Meanwhile, the second photo finds Seda snapping a quick selfie from inside as he prepares to make the transition from a detective to a doctor, and encourages fans to join him on this new ride!
It seems Seda is also already bonding with his La Brea co-stars as evident in the snapshot he shared of himself grabbing a bite to eat with co-stars Nicholas Gonzalez and Chiké Okonkwo before the trio prepared to enter lockdown as production kicks off.
La Brea season 1 premiere date
It’s going to be a true treat to have Jon Seda back on our screens again via his new role and the great news is that we shouldn’t have to wait long before getting to check out the show’s debut season!
While NBC has not announced the official premiere date for La Brea, it has been confirmed that the series will air as part of the network’s fall schedule with episodes scheduled to air Tuesday nights at 9/8c between new episodes of The Voice and New Amsterdam.

Should NBC stick to a more standard fall schedule, it’s likely we could see La Brea season 1 arrive as early as Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, as NBC tends to kick off its fall season the final week of September.
