David Eigenberg returns for Sex and the City revival And Just Like That
Chicago Fire star David Eigenberg will be heading back to his Sex and the City role for the upcoming HBO MAX revival And Just Like That.
HBO announced Eigenberg’s participation in the sequel via press release on Wednesday.
The actor, who stars as Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann on Chicago Fire, appeared in 41 episodes of Sex and the City as well as both follow-up movies. He recurred as Steve Brady, the boyfriend and later husband of Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon).

No details were given about Steve’s part in the new series, but the network released a general synopsis for And Just Like That which says Miranda and her friends will “navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”

The show will consist of ten half-hour episodes; filming will take place this summer in New York, so fans probably won’t see it on HBO MAX until at least fall or even spring 2022.
If that’s the case, it’s possible that One Chicago fans will be able to watch David Eigenberg in two shows at once—the next Chicago Fire season should premiere in September and air new episodes through May, so it’ll still be going when And Just Like That premieres.
Even if you’re not a Sex and the City fan, it’s going to be worth looking into the upcoming show just to see David Eigenberg in a role that’s so different from the cynical, cantankerous Herrmann.
