Following another successful and wildly entertaining ninth season, Chicago Fire will be returning to NBC’s schedule this fall with what promises to be quite a season for the network’s flagship One Chicago series.

While there is little known about the upcoming tenth season of Chicago Fire, one thing that is certain is fans should be in for yet another amazing season filled with the promise of some truly incredible episodes.

Not only are we expecting to see the One Chicago crossovers return this season, but this fall Chicago Fire will achieve yet another TV milestone with its 200th episode — an episode that promises to be an unforgettable hour!

As we look ahead to the return to 51, we’ve rounded up everything we know about the upcoming season of Chicago Fire including when we expect the show to return, details on who should be back in action and more.

Chicago Fire season 10 premiere date

After a delayed rollout in 2020 due to the pandemic, one which saw the One Chicago series returning in November, NBC is finally getting back to its usual fall rollout plans this season!

As confirmed by NBC, Chicago Fire season 10 will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at 9/8cs. Once again, Fire will be sandwiched between the season premieres of Chicago Med and Chicago PD which will also kick off their seasons on Sept. 22.

Chicago Fire season 10 cast

As we head into the upcoming tenth season of Chicago Fire, it’s possible that there could be some cast departures due to the way in which season 9 left several characters’ futures very much up in the air. That said, NBC has not confirmed any cast departures which leads us to believe most of the cast should be returning for season 10 including Jesse Spencer, Kara Killmer, David Eigenberg, Christian Stolte, Alberto Rosende, Daniel Kyri, and Hanako Greensmith.

While the futures of Taylor Kinney, Miranda Rae Mayo, Eamonn Walker, Joe Minoso, Randy Flagler and Anthony Ferraris remain unconfirmed at this time, but we’re expecting most of these actors will be back for season 10 as well in some way.

The one actor whose exit has been confirmed is Adriyan Rae, who will not be returning as paramedic Gianna Mackey in season 10.

Chicago Fire season 10 synopsis

Currently, NBC has not released an official synopsis for season 10 of Chicago Fire but one thing that is certain is the season should be quite the memorable and eventful season.

As the season begins, we expect the show’s writers to quickly resolve many of the season 9 cliffhangers in revealing the fate of Squad’s members, what the future will hold for Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and whether Boden (Eamonn Walker) will be looking to leave 51 in taking a new position in the CFD.

With the show’s 200th episode coming this season, we’re also anticipating a big episode of some sort perhaps one which could feature a surprise guest or two, or perhaps the nuptials of a certain engaged 51 couple. Speaking of couples, season 10 should also bring some interesting developments in the relationships of several of 51’s couples such as Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Brett (Kara Killmer), and Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and Gallo (Alberto Rosende).

Chicago Fire season 10 trailer
