When does Chicago PD season 9 premiere?

Chicago PD season 8 was quite a wild ride, with the 2-part season finale, in particular, standing out as one of the most intense two hours of the season. After the heart-pounding finale, fans are eager to know when Chicago PD season 9 will be coming and when we might get some resolution to the season finale’s many shocking cliffhangers.

Of course, the biggest storyline in the episodes was the abduction of Burgess (Marina Squerciati) with the finale splitting its time between the Intelligence Unit working to track Burgess down and Burgess’s fight to survive following her ordeal.

While the team succeeded in getting to Burgess in time, her brush with death is sure to have an impact on her season 9 journey and it’s also going to be interesting to see how it affects her relationship with Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) in the new season.

Also left up in the air is what will be next for Voight (Jason Beghe) after he crossed the line and covered up the death of the suspect who died after Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) shot him to protect Voight.

Speaking of Upton, not only are fans anxious to see how she’ll process and work through the ordeal with Voight but there is also the question of how Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) will react to Upton’s impromptu suggestion to get married.

Needless to say, there are a lot of questions heading into the season but the good news is fans won’t have to wait too much longer for resolution to these storylines!

Chicago PD season 9 premiere date

While fans had to wait until November for season 8 to kick off last fall, NBC is finally returning to its more standard fall premiere schedule this year in looking to kick off the new seasons of its fall series during the week of September 20.

With this plan in place, NBC has confirmed the One Chicago series will debut that Wednesday meaning Chicago PD season 9 will premiere Sept. 22 at 10/9c behind the season premieres of Chicago Med and Chicago Fire!
