Chicago Med: Who’s joining the cast in Chicago Med season 7?

When Chicago Med season 7 kicks off this September, NBC’s top-rated drama will navigate two of its biggest cast shake-ups to date with following the departure of original stars Torrey DeVitto and Yaya DaCosta.

After six seasons and more than 100 episodes on the show, both DaCosta and DeVitto are exiting the show and will not appear as part of the lead cast for the upcoming seventh season. While it’s hard to picture the show without Natalie and April, who have been integral parts of the show since day 1, the good news is that all other principal members of the cast will be back for the upcoming season.

As previously reported, S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, Nick Gehlfuss, and Brian Tee have all signed new deals to remain with the show, while Marlyne Barrett and Dominic Rains are also set to return.

Additionally, NBC will be looking to fill the void left by DeVitto and DaCosta’s departures with a few new additions as well as a promotion for one of the newest members of the Chicago Med family.

After joining Chicago Med in season 6 via a recurring role, Steven Weber will not only be sticking around for Chicago Med season 7 but fans can expect to see even more of Weber in season 7!

As first reported by Deadline, Weber has been promoted to a series regular for season 6 which makes sense given when we last saw his character, Dean Archer, in the season 6 finale, he had been named interim chief of the ED. Needless to say, it seems Dean will be sticking around and we fully expect him to stir the pot in his new role.

Who is Guy Lockard playing in Chicago Med season 7?

Joining the cast in season 7 is actor Guy Lockard, who is one of two new series regulars to be introduced in the new season. Lockard will play Dr. Dylan Scott, who is described as a former Chicago police officer turned doctor.

Given his former career in law enforcement, it’s going to be interesting to see if he shares a connection with any member of the Chicago PD cast but we imagine that’s a storyline the writers are sure to explore.

Who is Kristen Hager playing in Chicago Med season 7?

Also joining the Chicago Med cast in season 7 is Being Human alum Kristen Hager. Hager is set to play Dr. Stevie Hammer, Med’s newest emergency room attending physician.

While little is known about the character including what exactly brings her to Med, Stevie is described as being both brilliant and scrappy which are two qualities that are sure to come in handy in the ED.
