Chicago Med season 7: When does season 7 of Chicago Med start?

It’s been another long summer for Chicago Med fans anxious to find out what’s next for their favorite doctors and nurses after what was another incredible season of NBC’s One Chicago medical drama. Luckily, the wait for Chicago Med season 7 is nearly over!

Season 6 was definitely one to remember what with its delayed start caused by the pandemic, not to mention the shorter than usual season and interesting episode release schedule. The good news is that NBC’s One Chicago series seems to be back on track for a more standard season which is sure to be music to the ears of fans.

Filming is already underway on the new season of Chicago Med and NBC has already confirmed the new season will be arriving earlier than season 6 — which didn’t begin until November 2020.

When is the Chicago Med season 7 premiere?

In looking to get back to its more standard fall schedule, NBC has announced the new season of Chicago Med, as well as its One Chicago sister series, will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021.

What time will Chicago Med be on this fall?

After another successful season last year, NBC is looking to keep things the same by once again airing new episodes of Chicago Med at 8/7c on Wednesday nights. As in recent seasons, Chicago Med will be kicking off One Chicago Wednesdays in the opening timeslot for the night with new episodes of Chicago Fire and Chicago PD following at 9/8c and 10/9c, respectively.

How many episodes will Chicago Med season 7 be?

NBC has not yet confirmed the episode totals for its returning series, but it is expected that Chicago Med season 7 will consist of between 20-22 episodes. Aside from its first and most recent season, every season of Chicago Med has consisted of at least 20 episodes which has become the standard total for most NBC fall dramas including Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. 

While it’s possible season 7 could be less than 20 episodes, we’re anticipating the new season will be 22 episodes in length which seems to be the sweet spot for NBC.
