Kelly Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) fate might not have been confirmed just yet, but it looks like our favorite Lieutenant could soon potentially come face to face with a ghost of his past at some point in Chicago Fire season 10… at least if a former guest star gets their wish!

While NBC has not yet confirmed who will survive the season 9 finale’s shocking cliffhanger, we’re operating under the assumption that Severide will make it out of the ordeal given his portrayer Taylor Kinney has been photographed countless times on set filming the new season.

With that in mind, one of the biggest questions in looking at the season ahead is when exactly Severide and his new fiancé Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) might be taking a walk down the aisle and just how lavish of an affair the two might have.

Needless to say, Stellaride fans are quite eager to see the happy couple exchange I Do’s no matter how big or small their ceremony might prove to be. However, there is one person who seems set on throwing a wrench in the couple’s plans and would love the opportunity to do so in the upcoming season.

Is Serinda Swan returning in Chicago Fire season 10?

In a new interview with TVLine, former Chicago Fire guest star Serinda Swan revealed she would love to make a comeback as Severide’s former wife Brittany Baker if only to stir the pot and cause a little turmoil for her former flame!

To recap, back in Chicago Fire season 3, Swan was introduced as part of a four-episode guest arch which saw her play a graphic designer named Brittany who Severide met and married in Las Vegas in an impromptu ceremony. Their relationship quickly fizzled out as the two came to their senses and recognized the mistake they had made in rushing into a marriage built on the foundation of a crazy night in Vegas and their shared grief.

Brittany left town just as swiftly as she arrived, and has never been seen since — though we did find out in season 6 that she and Severide had gotten an annulment.

While it’s been years since Swan last appeared on the show, her brief guest stint seems to have had a lasting impact on fans who to this day ask whether she’d be interested in returning. Although she’s been keeping busy with various roles including in The CW’s Canadian import Coroner, it seems Swan would be interested in making a return but only if given the chance to cause some drama for Severide.

As Swan told TVLine, she would “be down for [Brittany] to just randomly show up one season and mess things up a bit for [Severide] again.”

With Swan confirming her interest to return, it’s possible it could give the writing time an idea or two as a way to have Severide confront his past before exchanging I Do’s with Stella. There is no denying it would lead to a memorable exchange and allow the writers to show just how far Severide has come since season 3.

While there is clearly an interest from Swan in the chance to return to the One Chicago franchise as a blast from Severide’s past, there have been no indications Swan will be returning in season 10 at this time and we have a gut feeling the writers might not be looking to revisit that storyline this season.
