Chicago Med season 7 photos provide first look at new characters in action

The ED at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center is going to look a tad different when Chicago Med season 7 debuts this fall on NBC thanks not only to the departures of two original cast members but the additions of a handful of new faces.

As previously reported, original stars Torrey DeVitto and Yaya DaCosta have scrubbed in for the final time and will not be returning in season 7 as Dr. Natalie Manning and Nurse April Sexton. In wake of their departures, NBC will look to infuse the cast with some fresh blood in the form of Kristen Hager and Guy Lockard as the show’s two newest series regulars.

Hager will be playing Dr. Stevie Hammer, Chicago Med’s newest emergency room attending physician with a surprising past. Meanwhile, Lockard will be playing Dr. Dylan Scott, a former Chicago police officer now pursuing dual residence in emergency medicine and pediatrics.

The characters are sure to quickly make waves as the newest additions to the hospital’s staff and, thanks to NBC’s newly released premiere photos, we finally have our chance to see the two new docs in action!

Dr. Hammer and Dr. Scott Chicago Med season 7 first look photos

With Chicago Med season 7 only a few short weeks away, NBC has dropped the first batch of photos from the season premiere. While the photos were filled with glimpses of several of our returning favorites, they also offered up our first look at Kristen Hager and Guy Lockard’s new characters — who seem to be thrust right into the action of the ED.

In the new images from the premiere, it quickly becomes clear that Dr. Hammer and Dr. Scott will be thrown into the lion’s den together in partnering up to treat their first patient as part of the Med team.

It also seems their first case might be a head-scratcher, at least that’s the vibe we’re picking up on in a number of photos in which the pair are seen meeting with a patient. While we don’t yet know what might bring their patient into the ED, it’s clear that it’s going to be a complicated case that should make for an interesting introduction for the two characters.

Given this will be our first introduction to the characters, we’re definitely interested to see how they approach treating their patient, what their bedside manner might look like and how well they get along with one another!
