NBC drops new Chicago PD season 9 cast photo and yes Marina Squerciati is present

Marina Squerciati’s officer Kim Burgess was nowhere to be seen in the first photos from the Chicago PD season 9 premiere; however, Squerciati is front and center in the newest promotional materials for the upcoming season which is quite a promising sign for those concerned about her future on the show.

Although we’ll have to wait until the season 9 premiere on Sept. 22 to know for certain whether Burgess will pull through and survive her brush with death, the fact that Squerciati is featured prominently within the newest cast photo seems to suggest she won’t be going anywhere.

Ahead of the Chicago PD‘s season 9 premiere, NBC has debuted a new cast photo which brings together the entire cast of NBC’s hit crime drama.

While the photo doesn’t offer up any hints of what’s to come this season, it is quite promising to see Squerciati featured within the image as her presence seems to confirm she won’t be departing the show and will remain a key member of the cast in season 9.

It also seems promising that Squerciati appears directly next to Patrick Flueger which we’re sure Burzek fans will appreciate. Sure it remains unclear what might be next for the pair, but we defintely have a feeling season 9 could be a game-changer for the pair.
