The wait for new episodes of Chicago Fire is nearly over! After another long summer, Chicago Fire season 10 is almost upon us with just a few short days away from the start of the new season and the return of One Chicago Wednesdays!

Given how we left things in the season 9 finale, the season 10 premiere promises to bring answers to all of our burning questions while also setting up for the season ahead in laying the groundwork for what’s to come this season.

Ahead of Chicago Fire‘s return, we share the season 10 synopsis, trailer, and photos as part of our premiere primer in hopes of helping you get ready for the first episode of the new season!

Chicago Fire season 10 premiere synopsis

As season 10 begins, 51 will be forced to deal with the aftermath of the capsized boat which definitely has us worried about whether someone from Squad could be in danger of leaving the show!

Here’s how NBC describes the season 10 premiere, “Mayday,” via the episode’s official synopsis:

"“Firehouse 51 deals with the aftermath of the capsized boat rescue. Gallo, Ritter and Violet discuss plans for a side gig.”"

Chicago Fire season 10 premiere trailer

Oddly, NBC has not released an official trailer for the upcoming tenth season of Chicago Fire; however, the network has given us a few sneak peeks of the new season via a pair of intense One Chicago promos.

In the first promo, we get a glimpse of what seems to be a goodbye from Boden (Eamonn Walker) as well as a shocking rescue that sees Casey (Jesse Spencer) taking a major risk to help save a victim in need.

The second One Chicago teaser for the new season is quite explosive, literally. In the teaser, the boat Squad found themselves trapped in as season 9 came to an end seems to go up in smoke triggering a major explosion — hopefully, after Squad has gotten out safely!

Chicago Fire season 10 premiere photos

While we haven’t been treated to an official Chicago Fire promo, NBC has released a slew of images from the season 10 premiere which provide us with our first glimpses of what’s to come as the season begins.

Across the various photos, we see 51 responding to one of their first big calls of the season; 51’s newest members coming together likely to discuss the side gig the synopsis teases them working to find; Boden engaging in what appears to be an intense conversation with Deputy Commissioner Gloria Hill (Nicole Brooks); and 51 watching on in concern at the rescue scene which Squad was responding to as season 9 came to an end.
