Chicago Fire 200th episode may not feature a Stellaride wedding after all
Chicago Fire has been a TV staple over the past decade, and season 10 will bring with it the momentous landmark of 200 episodes. Much has been made of the 200th episode itself, with showrunner Derek Haas teasing major plot developments, as well as the return of beloved characters.
One of the biggest question marks heading into the 200th episode, however, is whether fans will finally get to see Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) get married. The beloved Stellaride relationship has anchored Chicago Fire for the past several seasons, so it makes sense that fans would want their wedding to align with a landmark episode.
That being said, Haas shot down the notion of a Stellaride wedding during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. The showrunner claimed there won’t be any wedding bells to help ring in the 200th episode, and that the writers are going to be taking things in a different direction.
Will Severide and Stella get married in the 200th episode?
Haas claimed that the Stellaride wedding would be better suited to a season closer than a 200th episode celebration. “We’re not going towards wedding. Wedding, I think, is a season sort of thing”, he reasoned. “So I wouldn’t get out your bridesmaid’s dress or groomsmen tuxedos just yet.”
While on the subject of the Stellarde relationship, Haas hinted at the possibility that the couple will take their next big step before the end of the season. He claimed that the Severide and Stella union will “go forward” in season 10, though he did add the caveat that showrunner plans don’t always come to fruition. “I think we’re working towards that”, he added. “This couple’s been solid.”

Those wanting a bombastic 200th episode needn’t worry, though. Haas promised fans that Chicago Fire has plenty of twists and turns up its sleeve for the landmark occasion. There’s said to be “huge life-changing and show-changing surprises” for the characters, as well as an attention to past events that will reward attentive and longtime fans.
While it sounds like audiences will have to wait a bit longer to get the anticipated Stellaride wedding, there are plenty of promising developments in store to keep Firehouse 51 as dramatic and thrilling as ever.
