Chicago PD season 9 episode 2 promo, synopsis and photos

Last week on Chicago PD, season 9 began with an intense first episode which saw emotions running high as the Intelligence Unit worked to track down leads in hopes of bringing in those responsible for abducting Kim (Marina Squerciati) and then leaving her for dead.

While the search for answers was the primary focus of the episode, the premiere also managed to give fans answers to two of the season 8 finale’s biggest unresolved storylines.

The first key resolution came when it was revealed that Kim has pulled through and was expected to make a full recovery, waking up in the final stretch of the episode. Then in the final moments of the episode, Upstead fans finally got to see Jay’s (Jesse Lee Soffer) answer to Hailey’s (Tracy Spiridakos) proposal in a moment that saw him turn the tables and instead propose to her,  a proposal she happily accepted.

In the new promo for the second hour of the season, it looks like a minor time jump could be coming given Kim has been discharged from the hospital and is now facing her return to the job.

If the promo is any indication, it seems Kim will be weighing her future with Intelligence after her attack in being faced with the daunting task of returning to the field after her brush with death.

As the promo teases, Kim is going to be forced to make a difficult decision and it seems Voight (Jason Beghe) and Adam (Patrick Flueger) will both be looking out for Kim’s best interests, which is far from surprising.

However, as the promo for the episode seems to suggest, it appears the pair might have different opinions on what exactly might be best for Kim following her attack.

"When a P.D. informant is murdered, the team digs in to track down the perpetrator only to learn a shocking truth. Voight and Ruzek strategize to help Burgess."
