Last week on Chicago PD, Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) was forced to face his past when a former member of his Army unit came back into his life in the most unexpected of ways.
Unfortunately for Halstead, this wasn’t exactly a friendly reunion as the return of his former Army colleague came after he was connected to a deadly blast. After connecting the dots, Halstead went undercover and attempted to give his former Army colleague the benefit of the doubt, only for him to try to double-cross the team in the end.
While the moment wasn’t exactly a highlight for Halstead, it did allow him the chance to face from of the demons from his past and open up about his time in the Army with Upton (Tracy Spiridakos).

Chicago PD season 9 episode 4 promo
After putting Halstead front and center last week, this week’s episode seems to shift the attention to Upton and the secret she’s been harboring since the season 8 finale.
Judging by the promo for this week’s new episode, it looks like the truth about Roy could finally be coming to light and that Upton is about to reach her breaking point. It also seems a heated confrontation is coming between Halstead and Voight (Jason Beghe), which should lead to quite an unforgettable episode.
Chicago PD season 9 episode 4 synopsis
Although the promo for this week puts a large focus on Upton and the Roy storyline, the synopsis for episode 4 seems to suggest the Roy storyline won’t be the only thing Upton is juggling this week.
As teased in the official episode 4 synopsis, Upton and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) are going to be led down a dark path after responding to an emergency call.
