New Chicago Med photo confirms Sarah Rafferty is sticking around

Fans hoping to see more of Sarah Rafferty on Chicago Med are in luck as it seems the Suits alum will be sticking longer than some might have expected!

In the fifth episode of the season, Rafferty debuted as Dr. Pamela Blake, a transplant surgeon who ruffled feathers in the ED when she attempted to take over treatment of Crockett’s (Dominic Rains) patient… who just so happened to be her daughter.

While Pamela and Crockett seemed to butt heads throughout the episode, it was clear he had won her over in the end when he received a call late off shift informing him Pamela had requested his assistance with a transplant.

The moment seemed to suggest that Rafferty might stick around beyond her guest appearance and the newest promotional materials for episode 6, “When You’re a Hammer Everything’s a Nail,” seem to confirm Rafferty’s role was more than just a one-off guest appearance.

Has Sarah Rafferty joined the Chicago Med cast?

Although it remains to be seen exactly how many episodes Sarah Rafferty will be sticking around for, it does appear she’s joined the season 7 cast in a recurring role — news which has since been confirmed by Deadline. Even better, it doesn’t appear fans will have to wait long for more of Med’s powerhouse transplant surgeon’s next appearance.

As revealed in the newest promotional materials for the sixth episode of the season, Rafferty will be back in action this Wednesday night and we’ve already received our first look at her next appearance as well as a tease of what to expect next from Pamela.

In the newly released images from “When You’re a Hammer Everything’s a Nail,” Rafferty scrubs back in as Pamela Blake and it looks like she’s about to have an intense conversation with someone in the ED breakroom.

While the photos fail to offer up any hints as to who Pamela might be talking to, we have a gut feeling it’s Crockett based on the fact that the synopsis for the episode teases the two once again crossing paths.

This time, it seems Crockett will have his allegiances challenged when his patient’s liver is discovered to be a possible match for one of Pamela’s patients. Could it be that Pamela is making a case for her patient in the first look photos?

We’ll have to wait to see when the episode airs this Wednesday night, but one thing that is certain is we can’t wait to see more of Rafferty and are hopeful she’ll stick around for the long haul!
