Chicago Med has parted with several beloved characters in season 7. Thankfully, the show has managed to keep things exciting with a host of newcomers. Some of these newcomers have been promoted to recurring characters, like Sarah Rafferty’s Dr. Blake, while others leave an impression through standalone guest spots.

One of these guest spots is occupied by Lily Harris. The actress will be making her screen debut in the November 3 episode “A Square Peg In a Round Hole”. She will play one of the patients who get treated in the ED, and her rare condition will cause some dissent among the staff as to what the best line of action is.

Here’s everything you need to know about Lily Harris and her Chicago Med character.

Lily Harris plays Astrid on Chicago Med

According to Deadline, Harris will be playing a character named Astrid Meadows, who suffers from hallucinations and must rely on the expertise of the ED for a proper diagnosis. Little info has been divulged about Astrid’s specific condition or whether the staff will be able to help her, but its sure to be a compelling episodic arc.

Harris comes from an accomplished family lineage. Her father is Ed Harris, the veteran character actor who’s been nominated for four Academy Awards over the course of his career, and whose most notable films include Apollo 13 (1995), The Truman Show (1998), and Snowpiercer (2014).

Harris’ mother, Amy Madigan, is also an Academy Award nominee. She earned critical praise for her role in Twice In a Lifetime (1985), before going on to star in a number of classic films including Field of Dreams (1989), Uncle Buck (1989), and Gone Baby Gone (2007).

In addition to her family pedigree, Lily Harris has proven herself to be a scholastic talent. She’s a recent graduate of the American Conservatory Theater’s MFA Acting program, and Deadline states that the actress “discovered her love of acting” through Shakespeare.
