Chicago Med season 7 episode 8 promo, synopsis and photos

Last Wednesday on Chicago Med, Brian Tee made his long-awaited return as Dr. Ethan Choi in what was his first episode of the new season. Upon returning, we quickly discovered that while Ethan has come a long way in his recovery, he still has a way to go before he’s back to full speed and ready to take over his role as head of the ED at Med.

While Ethan’s return was the episode’s highlight, episode 7 was filled with interesting developments for the rest of the characters.

Will (Nick Gehlfuss) attempted to get Matt (Michael Rady) to finally clue him in on his underhanded dealings, but his efforts took an unexpected turn when Matt nearly died at a conference due to his near-lethal intake of drugs and alcohol. Meanwhile, it was becoming clear Vanessa (Asjha Cooper) is heading down a dangerous path in overworking herself, while Crockett (Dominic Rains) continued to explore his interest in transplant in working a new case with Pamela (Sarah Rafferty).

If you thought last week’s Chicago Med was full of action and drama, the promo for episode 8, “Just as A Snake Sheds Its Skin,” seems to suggest we’re in for yet another wild ride this week.

Within the 15-second promo, Vanessa seems to be visibly shaken by something which has occurred at Med, Stevie (Kristen Hager) enlists Will’s help looking for her mom, Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) appears to get into a heated exchange with what appears to be a patient, and Ethan seems to push himself a bit too far.

This week’s promo offers up a lot of teases for what’s to come in episode 8, “Just as A Snake Sheds Its Skin,” but it’s the synopsis for Chicago Med‘s eighth episode that offers up the most information about what’s ahead this week!

Remember when we said Vanessa looked distraught in the promo for the episode? Well, it seems her concern might be connected to the hospital’s annual random drug testing which would of course cause trouble for her given her recent use of Adderall.

As for Ethan? We’re guessing the intense moment in the promo which brings him to tears is connected to a risky old-school treatment method he attempts to perform on a patient.

"Dylan’s loyalty to Med and the police department is challenged when an old family friend and veteran cop exhibits concerning behavior. The annual random drug testing puts a doctor’s career in jeopardy. Ethan tries a risky old-school method on a patient. Will helps Stevie search for her mother."
