Chicago PD season 9 episode 8 promo, synopsis and photos

Last week on Chicago PD, tensions between Voight (Jason Beghe) and Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) came to a head as the two disagreed over the best approach for their latest case.

While the Roy Walton murder storyline has been pushed to the back burner in the past few episodes of Chicago PD, it finally comes back to the forefront of the series this week — at least that’s the impression the promo for this week’s gives off.

In the new promo, Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) is called in for questioning by the FBI and it seems Upton might soon have to face the music for the actions she took in the season 8 finale. It’s possible the agent questioning her could simply be trying to bait her into confessing to her role in Roy’s murder, but things definitely aren’t looking good for Upton in the promo.

As the promo for episode eight teases, Upton will be feeling the heat this week as the FBI begins closing in on their investigation into Roy’s death. Although Upton seems to be in the hot seat within the promo, she won’t be the only one feeling the heat as Halstead and Voight will also be feeling the pressure of the FBI’s presence this week.

While the Roy storyline seems prime to play a key role in this week’s episode of Chicago PD, the team still has work to do and will be, ironically, working to catch a murderer after catching a case involving the murder of a father of two.

Here’s how NBC officially describes season 9, episode 8:

"As the team investigates the stabbing of a father with two young daughters, they begin to suspect there is more to the story than meets the eye. The FBI investigation into Roy Walton’s death intensifies while Voight, Upton and Halstead feel the heat."
