Miranda Rae Mayo MIA in Chicago Fire fall finale photos (Should Kidd fans be worried?)

It’s been quite a difficult and interesting season for Stellaride fans, and that might be an understatement considering how things have gone for the couple thus far in season 10 of Chicago Fire. 

Heading into the season, the biggest question on the minds of fans was whether Severide (Taylor Kinney) would survive the harrowing underwater rescue in the season 9 finale. After Severide made it out alive, it looked like season 10 would be smooth sailing for him and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo); however, shortly after the premiere, Kidd left town to help set up Girls on Fire programs in other cities.

At first, the general assumption was that Kidd would return after missing an episode or two tops, she’s been MIA for the majority of this fall’s episodes which has led many to question whether Miranda Rae Mayo is leaving the show. 

Why isn’t Kidd in any of the Chicago Fire season 10 fall finale photos?

As rumors continue to swirl regarding whether we’ve seen the last of Stella Kidd on Chicago Fire, NBC seems to be fanning the flames once more with the release of the season 10 fall finale photos which fail to provide even one look at Kidd in action or just back in town.

It’s quite jarring not to see Kidd in any of the images once again as this is a trend that has occurred for each episode she’s missed thus far this season. With Kidd nowhere to be seen in the images, many might jump to conclusions in fearing her return has been delayed.

However, all signs thus far have pointed towards Kidd making her grand return to 51 in the fall finale with showrunner Derek Haas himself confirming Kidd would be back before 2021’s end.

So why exactly is Kidd not included in any of the season 10 fall finale images? What likely has happened here is NBC is looking to avoid giving any spoilers out as to how exactly Kidd might return or what she’ll be up to when she gets back in the Windy City.

This isn’t uncommon as the network has been known to hold spoiler-filled photos until after an episode has aired that seems to be the case in this instance — which is disappointing as we’d love to see even just a small sneak peek of her return!

When is Kidd coming back on Chicago Fire?

The good news is that fans won’t have to wait too much longer for Kidd to return to Chicago Fire.

Considering the show’s upcoming ninth episode will be its last episode of the year before the season resumes in January and that showrunner Derek Haas has revealed Miranda Rae Mayo will return before the year’s end, we know Kidd will be back in the fall finale.

What remains to be seen is exactly when and how we’ll return in the episode, which is likely going to play a role in the episode’s storylines and possibly even set up for the show’s winter premiere.
