We haven’t seen Stella Kidd for the majority of Chicago Fire season 10. Would she return in the Chicago Fire season 10 fall finale?
At first, Stella left Chicago to open a Girls on Fire chapter in Boston. It was a great storyline, perfect for the things the character had worked on over the recent seasons. It makes sense to grow this initiative.
However, Stella was gone for much longer than she needed to be. She also stopped answering Severide’s calls. Even Boden struggled to get in touch with her when Casey left, opening up a lieutenant position on Truck 81.
Would Stella return to Firehouse 51 just in time to get that spot full-time? It was a race against time with the floating lieutenant Pelham getting the opportunity to get that same position.

The simple answer to the question is yes. Stella did make it back in the Chicago Fire season 10 fall finale. However, here comes the long answer, and things aren’t looking good.
Severide admitted to Boden that Stella was ghosting him. That left Boden with no choice and he offered the full-time position to Pelham, who gratefully accepted it. Stella returned at the very end of the episode. She was in Severide’s apartment when he got home, but she didn’t look happy.
We get a hint at the trouble to come. After the episode, we got a promo for the Chicago Fire season 10 winter premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 5. Stella makes it clear that she doesn’t want to set out her life right now.
It looks like she’s having second thoughts about settling down. This is a strange turn of events considering how happy she and Severide were before she left for Boston. What has happened in Boston for her to even hint that she wants to break up with Severide? Has she cheated on him? We’ll have to wait for the winter premiere to find out.
