Chicago Fire star Andy Allo’s Amazon series Upload gets return date
Andy Allo has been a crucial part of Chicago Fire season 10, but that’s not all the busy actress has been up to. She’s also part of the ensemble for the Amazon series Upload, which premiered in May 2020 and has earned glowing reviews from critics and fans alike.
It doesn’t look as though things are going to slow down for Allo anytime soon. Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas has confirmed that her character, Seager, will continue to recur, and now, Deadline has announced that Upload will be returning for another season.
Here’s what you need to know about the Amazon sitcom’s return date.
Upload renewed for season 2 on Amazon
Upload has been renewed for a second season and will premiere on Friday, March 11. The main cast members from season 1 will return, including protagonists Nathan (Robbie Amell), an app developer who gets uploaded to a virtual afterlife known as “Lakeview”.
Allo plays Nora, Nathan’s customer service rep who becomes his lone source of support as he tries to navigate the surreal world around him. The actress has been singled out for her charming turn and her chemistry with co-star Amell.
During a 2020 interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Allo praised the writing and thematic focus of Upload, claiming that it helped it stand out from the competition. “The writing is so effortless”, she noted. “That a lot of times you just have to get out of the way and let the writing and the world that’s been built speak for itself.”

The official synopsis for season 2 is as follows:
"“Nathan is at a crossroads in his (after) life… his ex-girlfriend Ingrid has unexpectedly arrived to Lakeview hoping to strengthen their relationship, but his heart still secretly yearns for his customer service angel Nora. Meanwhile Nora is off the grid and involved with the anti-tech rebel group ‘The Ludds.’ Season Two is packed with new near-future concepts, including Lakeview’s newest in-app digital baby program called, ‘prototykes,’ and other satirical glimpses of the technological advances and headaches to come.”"
The first season of Upload was nominated for several awards, including Critics Choice Super Awards for Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Series and Best Actor In a Science Fiction/Fantasy Series (for Amell), and given the show’s momentum, there’s no reason Allo can’t snag a few noms of her own for season 2.
