Chicago Fire fans really want NBC to promote Jimmy Nicholas to series regular
By Cody Schultz
There have been a lot of changes in the Windy City this season on Chicago Fire as the show has bid farewell to beloved characters while also welcoming a few new faces to the One Chicago family.
Among the season’s new cast additions has been Jimmy Nicholas in the role of Paramedic Field Chief Evan Hawkins, a character first introduced in the second episode of the season who has quickly won over the hearts of Chicago Fire fans.
While Chief Hawkins’ introduction initially ruffled some feathers as he investigated Brett (Kara Killmer) for a potential breach of protocol, he’s quickly evolved into a beloved member of the cast having since helped Brett to launch her paramedic program.
Oh, and he also just so happens to be one half of the show’s hottest new ship, Hawkami, after sparks flew between Chief Hawkins and Violet (Hanako Greensmith).
Chicago Fire fans urge NBC to promote Jimmy Nicholas
Although Gallo (Alberto Rosende) fans have their reservations, the overwhelming reception to Chief Hawkins has been largely positive as fans are already calling upon NBC to make Nicholas a permanent addition to the cast!

Over the course of Chicago Fire season 10, fans have quickly fallen more and more in love with Chief Hawkins — and we can’t blame them! — and want nothing more than for NBC to promote Jimmy Nicholas from a recurring player to a full-fledged series regular.
Fans have already begun taking to social media to call upon NBC to up the breakout cast addition to series regular, a move that would definitely be more than deserved following what has been an incredible introduction for the character thus far!
Not only has Nicholas’ character won over the fans, but ChiHards have fallen in love with the behind Chief Hawkins as well which hasn’t been hard to do. Just take a few moments to watch his AMAZING TikTok video reacting to some of the early ship names that walked so Hawkami could fly and you can easily see why Chicago Fire fans have taken to Nicholas so quickly.
Due to the fact that NBC tends to make its bigger casting decisions at the beginning or end of a season, it’s likely we won’t know whether fans’ call for Nicholas to be upped to series regular will work. However, we’re optimistic Chief Hawkins might be sticking around for the long haul and clearly, the fans are too!
