Chicago Fire may be on hiatus for the Winter Olympics, but there’s still plenty to discuss. The cast and crew are currently filming the next block of episodes for season 10, and a recent social media post by actor Randy Flager hints at the return of a major supporting character.

The post sees several cast members sitting around a table and cheering while a balloon in the middle of the table reads “Winter Olympics”. It’s clear the post was meant to inspire excitement for the global event, but the inclusion of a particular actress hints at some interesting developments moving forward.

Potential spoilers for the rest of Chicago Fire season 10 ahead!

Is Wendy Seager coming back to Chicago Fire?

The actress in question is Andy Allo, who plays Lt. Wendy Seager. Allo can be seen cheering next to regular cast members like Miranda Rae Mayo, Joe Minoso, and the aforementioned Flager, which means that Seager will almost certainly be a part of upcoming subplots.

The character’s involvement is interesting for several reasons. For one, she’s an arson investigator, which means Chicago Fire will be tackling cases that are a bit more complicated than the average blaze. Then there’s Seager’s connection to Severide (Taylor Kinney), and her obvious attraction to the character.

Seager and Severide have always had a close bond, but Severide’s willingness to entertain the former came to a head when he agreed to get drinks with her after work. He was feeling a lack of connection with Kidd (Mayo) at the time, and it was evident that there was resentment on his end. Kidd has since returned, but the couple are still working to get back to where they previously were.

Seager could pose something of a threat to that progress. Severide has never expressed romantic feelings for the arson investigator, but as we know from previous romances at the 51, sometimes a misunderstanding can be enough to cause drama. Severide might be placed in a situation where things look suspicious to Kidd, in which case the strain on their relationship will be doubled.

It’ll be interesting to see just how big a role Allo plays in the upcoming episodes, but given the tenuous position her character is in, she’s sure to be an integral part of the Stellaride subplot.
