When is the Chicago Fire season 11 release date?
Chicago Fire has undergone lots of changes in season 10. We’ve seen the exit of Casey (Jesse Spencer), the arrival of Jason Pelham (Brett Dalton), and issues in the love lives of Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Violet (Hanako Greensmith).
While there’s still half of season 10 to get through, and undoubtedly lots of stories, some fans are already looking to the future. Chicago Fire has already been renewed for an eleventh season, but the details surrounding the season have been kept under wraps.
Here’s what we know about season 11 and its release date.
Chicago Fire schedule 2022
Chicago Fire, along with Med and PD, generally airs around the same time each year. This means that the season 11 release date will be in September 2022, following a hiatus of several months. The specific day for a season premiere is not usually revealed while the previous season is still on the air, so that will be something that gets announced as we get closer.
Six of the ten Chicago Fire seasons have premiered in September, with most occurring towards the end of the month. Generally, the rule of thumb is that the show premieres on the last Wednesday of the month, meaning if season 11 follows suit, it will be released on September 28.

There have been exceptions to this rule, however. The first season of Chicago Fire premiered on October 10, 2012, and seasons 4 and 5 followed suit by airing before Halloween. Given that this scheduling tactic hasn’t been followed in several years, though, we can assume it won’t happen this year.
The ninth season of Fire was a bit of an anomaly, as it was the only one to premiere in November. This was due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the difficulty the showrunners and producers had in getting the show made while maintaining safety regulations. These pandemic-related issues were the reason that season 9 only had 16 episodes, which is the lowest count for a single season to date.
