Chicago PD season 9 episode 17 spoilers: What to expect in Adrift

After yet another hiatus, Chicago PD finally returns to NBC’s lineup this Wednesday night with its first new episode of the new month.

In the last episode before the break, the Intelligence Unit worked to use to find a connection between a shooting and bakery owner Javier Escano, a man who had been under surveillance. It was a particularly intense episode for Voight’s informant Anna Avalos, who was thrust into an uncomfortable situation but one which ultimately paid off in the end.

As Chicago PD season 9 resumes this week, our focus shifts back to Burgess and Ruzek and it appears Burzek fans might want to brace themselves.

In episode 17, it appears we’re going to finally explore the fallout from Makayla’s abduction and, by the sound of the episode’s synopsis, it seems things could might be about to get rocky for our favorite couple.

Here’s how NBC officially describes season 9, episode 17:

"Ruzek’s search for the daughter of an old family friend leads the team into a serious drug investigation. Burgess and Ruzek struggle to move on from the emotional aftermath of Makayla’s abduction."
