Brace yourself One Chicago fans because Chicago Fire is about to take yet another break in its season and the latest hiatus is approaching sooner than we anticipated.
With the season nearing the finish line, we’ve known NBC would have to schedule at least one more break in order to pace out the remaining episodes. We just weren’t quite expecting it to arrive so soon.
As confirmed by NBC’s recently released schedule for the remainder of the month, Chicago Fire and the entire One Chicago franchise will be heading into rerun mode following the upcoming broadcast of each series’ nineteenth episode.
When is Chicago Fire season 10’s next break?
The next break in Chicago Fire‘s current season will come on Wednesday, April 27. On that night, NBC will air an encore of season 10’s “Whom Shall I Fear?” instead of a new episode of season 10 in what should hopefully be the final break in the season.
While NBC has not yet confirmed how long this latest break will be, we’re anticipating it will be yet another 2-week hiatus for the show.

NBC has confirmed season 10 will consist of 22 episodes with the show’s nineteenth episode set to drop on Wednesday, April 20. We also know that the season 10 finale has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 25 which means NBC is going to need to air encores for at least two more weeks in order to pace the remaining episodes out organically.
Considering we know NBC will air an encore on April 27, it seems likely they’ll air another repeat on May 4. That would allow the remaining episodes of season 10 to air uninterrupted from May 11 through May 25, which is a scheduling move we all could get behind!
