Chicago Med season 7 is nearly complete and filming on the season is almost in the books.

With yet another season nearing its end, it’s only natural that fans are already beginning to question the futures of their favorite doctors and nurses. After all, Med has seen its fair share of cast shakeups over the years including just this season when it bid farewell to several beloved cast members.

While the status of the cast’s current contracts remains unclear, there seems to be at least one cast member who doesn’t have any plans to leave town just yet.

Will Guy Lockard return for Chicago Med season 8?

NBC has not yet confirmed the contract statuses of its current cast members, however, Guy Lockard seems to have confirmed he will be returning in season 8 as Dr. Dylan Scott.

Taking to Twitter, Lockard expressed disappointment that he missed the chance to snap a photo with Chicago Fire star Randy Flagler when the two bumped into one another at COVID testing due to the fact that he probably won’t see him again until next season.

While it might seem like nothing more than a simple tweet, Lockard’s message seemed to have inadvertently confirmed his return for season 8. After all, if Lockard was to depart the series, he wouldn’t be bumping into Flagler next season.

Although to some it might seem like a safe assumption that Lockard would be sticking around given he just became a series regular this year, as we’ve seen recently that isn’t always the case.

Despite also joining the cast as a series regular this season, Kristen Hager departed the series after only a few episodes and is not expected to return for season 8. So the fact that Lockard is already looking ahead to next season seems to suggest fans won’t have to worry about bidding farewell to Lockard’s beloved new doctor just yet!
