Wendy Seager (Andy Allo) is a polarizing character on Chicago Fire. She’s great at her job, and has tremendous chemistry with Severide (Taylor Kinney), but she clearly has feelings for the firefighter, leading to some tense, unspoken moments.

Seager’s interest in Severide coincided with the latter’s estrangement from Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), and while the couple have patched things up, Seager serves a reminder of that difficult period. Given Seager’s increased role in season 10, some fans may be wondering if the character will be in the finale.

Well, here’s what we know so far.

Is Seager in the Chicago Fire season 10 finale?

Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas has made no secret of the fact that Severide and Kidd are headed for some tough times. The couple may have a wedding on the horizon, but it may not be as easy a step as they initially though.

“They both carry a big burden into this, and the question is, when push comes to shove, can they take that leap?”, Haas told Deadline. “There’s all sorts of complications we’re throwing their way.” Furthermore, Miranda Rae Mayo hinted at the possibility that her character is scared of marriage and simply wants to stay the way they are with Severide.

The numerous possibilities that could arise during the season finale are compounded by Seager. There have been a few minor exchanges between Kidd and Seager, and the two of them seem to be on good terms, but Mayo has made it clear that Seager is on her character’s mind.

“You know, he’s working with Seager, who is very attractive and obviously in love with him”, the actress previously told Monsters & Critics. If Kidd gets her way, Seager will be nowhere near the wedding, and if Severide wants to avoid any unnecessary drama (which we assume he would), he will not invite Seager himself.

All things consider, it’s a very safe assumption that Seager will be missing out of the wedding. Sadly, depending on what goes down, Severide and Kidd may miss out on the wedding as well. The fate of their relationship is perhaps the biggest question the show has posed in years, and we can’t wait to get the answer.
