Who does Chandra West play on Chicago PD?

Sometimes actors can play a large role in a show despite having a brief appearance. One such actor is Chandra West. She appeared in a single episode of Chicago PD, the season 4 title, “Fork In the Road”, and yet she helped push a main character towards a decision that would affect the rest of the show moving forward.

Granted, fans who haven’t seen the episode in a long time (or at all) may be confused as to who West plays, and how she was able to exert her influence.

Well, here’s what you need to know.

Why did Lindsay leave Chicago PD?

West plays Jennifer Spencer, an FBI agent who was brought in to aid with the arrest of Barbara “Bunny” Fletcher (Markie Post). The latter was involved with the shooting of a close family friend, and the fallout of the investigation took a toll on Bunny’s daughter, Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush).

Things got even more complicated when Lindsay tortured a suspect to get information regarding a kidnapping case. The suspect turned out to be guilty, but Lindsay crossed a line that landed her in hot water with internal affairs. It was obvious she wasn’t going to be able to stick around.

Spencer offered her a job with the New York counter-terrorism unit, and despite her desire to stay with her friends and family in Chicago, Lindsay agrees. She leaves her job at the police department and departs with Spencer by the end of the episode.

Lindsay’s departure was a major turning point for the show, as it signaled the end of the show’s original lineup and opened the door for future characters like Upton (Tracy Spiridakos). And it all comes back to Spencer, technically.

West has not appeared on Chicago PD since, but she has remained busy on various TV shows. She had guest spots on Rosewood and Monk, as well as a starring role in the 2013 series Played. Her most notable film role to date was Dr. Honey in the smash comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007).
